Kun je nu al testen of je dementie hebt?

We forget almost everything we put into our memory. In fact, we lose most of it in the very first second. Memory researcher Hedderik van Rijn (University of Groningen) developed a test to discover how well you can still learn. With it, he can determine how good your memory is. In eight minutes, you try to remember as many birds, countries, or pasta shapes as possible, after which the test compares your score with other people your age. This tells us not only about your memory, but also about the rest of your health. In this episode, Hedderik explains how this test helps in the research into various forms of dementia. Want to take Hedderik's memory test yourself? You can do that here: https://demo.sgma.memorylab.app/#/demo We would have loved to give you a "brain age" right away, like in the video, but a scientist needs to interpret the score for that. Let us know how it went!
