Andrea Pontremoli joined IBM in 1980, hired as a simple maintenance technician, and developed his professional career there until he was appointed President and CEO of IBM Italy in 2004. In October 2007, he left his position and took on a new challenge, joining Giampaolo Dallara as a partner at the helm of Dallara Automobili and assuming the role of CEO and General Manager.
