Sukanya fell in love with Raga Surabhi's version of Rangapura Vihara and decided to go for its dance interpretation on the auspicious occasion of Shri Rama Navami! Thoughtful choreography, elegant and graceful moves and bhava soaked abhinaya are the hallmark of Sukanya. Extremely grateful for having connected with her and I feel that this is just the start of a new collaborative journey. Looking forward to work with her more closely in the coming months and years! Ms. Sukanya Kumar is an Indian Classical Dance practitioner of Bharatanatyam and Kathak and has performed in many prestigious Indian and International venues, both as a solo performer and in collaboration. Recipient of several awards and scholarships and a graded artist for the Indian National television ‘Doordarshan’ in both Bharatanatyam and Kathak genres, she is accomplished in allied arts like Yoga, Kalaripayattu, Theatre, and Indian Classical music both vocal and percussion. She is a passionate teacher and has been teaching main stream dance students and children with special needs for over a decade. Sukanya is a creative culturist, choreographer, and competent writer, skilled in implementing electronic media technology in her productions to propagate social messages.
