𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗢𝗝𝗢: Daisy the Venice Healer Gives Exclusive Tour of Her Santa Monica Apartment

SANTA MONICA, CA — Tuesday, October 28, 2025 — Venice Beach healer and street performer Daisy offered Santa Monica Closeup an exclusive tour of her Second Street apartment, a modest studio she affectionately calls her “Dojo.” A longtime presence along the Venice boardwalk, Daisy has been living at Step Up on Second since March, participating in a transitional supportive housing program that she says has helped her stabilize and refocus on her healing work. Inside the apartment, Daisy has created what she describes as a sanctuary. Dozens of houseplants line the walls and windowsills, spiritual objects hang from the ceiling, and a foldable inversion stand sits in the center of the room—used for decompression, partner massage, and spiritual grounding. In her small kitchen, she’s set up what she calls her “barista bar,” complete with coffee machines, raw cacao, cinnamon, matcha, and other ingredients for homemade mochas. “I used to spend $300 a month on Starbucks,” she explained. “Now I’ve built my own café with my EBT benefits.” Just beside her kitchen, Daisy showed off a commercial-grade ice maker capable of producing more than 200 pounds of ice daily. The ice is used for cold plunges, a ritual she pairs with hot yoga and healing ceremonies. “I don’t need cryotherapy anymore,” she said. “This is my wellness spa.” Daisy also maintains a small sidewalk garden outside her apartment building, where she grows eggplants, orchids, and broccoli. She said she uses leftover flowers from Step Up’s Wednesday floral giveaways and fresh groceries from Friday food distributions to cultivate the area. “Just because this is a transitional housing building doesn’t mean it has to look like one,” she said. “We make it a garden.” She described Step Up as a program that offers both challenge and opportunity. “There’s a lot of yelling, a lot of fire alarms, a lot of evictions,” she said. “But I’m one of the ones who tries.” Daisy says she receives EMDR therapy as part of her case management plan, which focuses on emotional regulation and building safer interpersonal dynamics. “I used to have outbursts,” she admitted. “Now I try to talk about my feelings instead of reacting. It’s working.” Daisy hopes to move to the Sea Castle Apartments on Ocean Front Walk in five months if she meets her housing program’s compliance requirements. Her case manager, she said, is helping guide the process. “I’ll apply, and I’ll be approved,” she said confidently. “My case manager makes sure I get everything.” Her partner, Lorenzo, who she refers to as the “Italian Stallion,” is staying with her temporarily while awaiting a visa resolution. Together, they make music and hold healing circles for friends and neighbors on Monday nights and Saturday mornings. “This is where I train my spirit,” Daisy said. “It’s not about fighting.
