Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple, Kuala Lumpur: This is Malaysia's MUST VISIT temple!

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown is one of the must visit temples in Malaysia thanks to the stunning Hindu style architecture and ornate decoration. The 6 metres high entrance tower (“Gopuram”) is its most striking feature with 228 idols carved into its five layers. There is a beautiful and richly ornate main prayer hall and a further four shrines located around the outer perimeter which is lavishly decorated with statues and murals on both sides. It’s also on the edge of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown so can be combined for a visit with both. The temple is free of charge apart from a 20 cents fee to store your shoes.
