This Route 66 Texas road trip takes us to iconic landmarks like the U-Drop Inn Café, vintage Magnolia gas stations, quirky ghost towns, the Leaning Tower of Texas, the massive Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ, downtown Amarillo, and the legendary Cadillac Ranch. We explore historic motels, forgotten alignments, Route 66 museums, and even reach the official halfway point of Route 66 in Adrian, Texas. Traveling by RV on Route 66, we experience the wide-open landscapes of the Texas Panhandle, the Llano Estacado, and dramatic scenery near Palo Duro Canyon — often called the Grand Canyon of Texas. Along the way, we share real road conditions, historic context, drone footage, food stops, and behind-the-scenes moments from life on the Mother Road.
