What could be the connection between weight loss medications and divorce? And would it even make sense? It turns out there is, as evidenced by research by Swedish scientists from the University of Gothenburg, led by Professor Per-Arne Svensson. Psychologists from the university, studying relationships between partners, observed that the number of divorces at least doubled among those in which the women took such medications. This specifically concerned medications, primarily intended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, which have weight loss as one of their side effects. And since the most well-known drug is Ozempic, the phenomenon has been dubbed "Ozempic divorce."
