On July 2nd, we celebrated Journalist Day – a celebration of a profession that for years relied on patience, courage, and the pursuit of truth. Today, the media thrives on the rhythm of instant news, and there's simply not enough time for multi-day, incarnate reports, which is why they're no longer done. However, editor Bożena Stasiak remembers vividly the days when a journalist could become someone else for a few days, showing readers the world from the inside. She was a hospital orderly, worked as a toilet attendant at the Central Station, worked undercover at escort agencies, and spoke with people others didn't have access to. Today, she views contemporary media with concern. In the interview, she discusses the decline of incarnate reporting, the growing pressure of breaking news, the impact of artificial intelligence on the profession, and argues that the biggest problem facing contemporary journalism isn't technology, but the loss of empathy.
