Gendlin's Focusing: Clearing A Space exercise
Gendlin's Focusing depends upon closing your eyes, going inside, and finding a 'bodily felt sense' of the issue you want to work on. But, sometimes, our body is jammed up and overwhelmed with issues. Or, because of chronic illness or other unchangeable situations, we are unable to ever set down our burdens and recover by feeling some moments of peace. The Clear A Space exercise lets you lift out and set down outside of yourself each issue you are carrying, so that, even if these problems cannot immediately be solved, you can experience a sense of 'Clear Space,' a reprieve for your body, and the first step in being able to move forward.
