VN24 - High-Speed Collision on german Autobahn send 5 to hospital VN24 - April 28, 2026 - Hagen A45 / Germany - A high-speed rear-end collision occurred around 1:26 p.m. on the newly completed Lennetal Bridge in Hagen. According to police reports, a 33-year-old Dutch man was driving his Suzuki in the middle of three southbound lanes and intended to pass a tractor that was apparently ahead of him. To do so, he changed lanes to the left lane without noticing that a white Audi convertible was approaching from behind at very high speed. There is no speed limit at this point on the highway. The 21-year-old Audi driver was unable to avoid the situation and collided with such force into the Dutch family’s Suzuki that it first struck the nearly brand-new tractor-trailer (which had only been driven 181 km / 112 miles) on the side, was deflected, apparently rolled over multiple times, and came to rest on its side after a distance of 210 meters, as measured by the police. The Audi driver and the Suzuki driver were both seriously injured; the Dutch man’s 35-year-old wife and the two children, aged 1 and 6, in the back seat sustained minor injuries. Everyone except the 41-year-old truck driver was taken to the hospital.
