Day 19 Part 1: Finalizing the Layout Before Cabinet Installation

Day 19, Part 1 of the 411 Kitchen Design Mobile Showroom conversion is all about reviewing the final layout before the crew arrives to begin cutting, assembling, and installing the walls, decorative panels, reflectors, and cabinets. In this video, I explain where the base and wall cabinets will be placed, the type of cabinets and door displays I selected, the purpose behind each section, and where the quartz samples and decorative cabinet doors will be displayed on both sides of the van. After owning the van for about a month, the materials are finally purchased, organized, and ready for the next major phase of the build. I also explain why I decided to remove and rebuild the back wall that will hold the electrical equipment, wiring, fuses, and power system. The more I reviewed it, the more I realized it was not built correctly, and sometimes you have to stop, question your work, and rebuild something before moving forward. I also installed reflective insulation and discussed adding a mushroom-style roof vent to help release trapped heat from the van. This mobile showroom was created because the way customers shop has changed. Search engines and “kitchen showrooms near me” results can limit a business to one physical location, but with a showroom on wheels, our location can move.
