A Horrible Murder In Lambeth, 1902 - Was It Jack The Ripper?
CAN YOU SOLVE THE MYSTERY? In the early hours of a June morning in 1902, two workmen who were employed at the Doulton factory in Broad Street, Lambeth, were making their way to a satellite unit of the factory, when, in a gateway in Salamanca Place, just off Broad street, they spotted what appeared to be a "butchers clear-out" in one of the gateways. On closer inspection, however, they discovered that they were, in fact, looking at the horrifically mutilated remains of a woman. They immediately notified the night watchman, who went to find a policeman, and, having done so, he brought the constable back to the scene. The grisly find was taken to the nearby mortuary, and here the doctors made an even more horrific discovery. This video tells the story of another unsolved case - one that was so horrible in its details, that the newspapers began to suggest the awful possibility that Jack the Ripper had returned. As with many newspaper reports of the age there are discrepancies between different accounts as to how names were spelt. I have kept the spelling (pronunciations) as per the original articles from which the various accounts were sourced.
