Welcome to Part 2 of a special five-part series featuring an informal Team USA Working Equitation training session with Miguel Undabarrena, held at WOW Arena in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, just before Team USA departed for the 2026 Working Equitation World Championships in Jerez, Spain. This episode focuses on training the Figure 8 and Reverse Figure 8. This training day was organized as a fundraiser, giving supporters a rare behind-the-scenes look at Team USA’s final preparations before heading overseas. Links below to contribute. 🇺🇸 Meet Team USA Robin Bond Matt French Kimberlee Barker Kenton Wright Alternates: Stephanie Hayes Pati Pierlucci ⸻ A Historic Moment for Team USA… and the American Mustang This World Championship is historic in more ways than one. Not only is Team USA representing the United States on the world stage, but two American Mustangs—Robin Bond’s Kiger Zapata KCA and Matt French’s Navarro—will be traveling to Spain to compete against the best Working Equitation horses in the world. This is believed to be one of the first times American Mustangs have reached this level of international competition, making it an exciting milestone for both the breed and the sport. While Kimberlee Barker and Kenton Wright are training in this series on Lusitano horses they own here in the United States, they will compete in Spain on different horses. Kimberlee will ride one of her own horses already based in Spain, while Kenton will compete on a generously provided borrowed horse. ⸻ About These Training Exercises The exercises demonstrated throughout this series are designed for Masters-level Working Equitation riders preparing for the World Championships. They require years of experience, advanced horsemanship, and horses trained to the highest levels of the sport. Please do not attempt to recreate these exercises without the supervision of a qualified equine professional.
