Spain was attacked by the so-called Moroccan Liberation Army, supported by the recently independent Morocco. For three months, the Spanish army had to hold back the rebel bands that sought to seize control of the territory. After the initial enemy attack, a series of operations were carried out to relieve the besieged inland outposts and regain the initiative. These were the operations for the liberation of Telata, carried out by Lieutenant Ortiz de Zárate's section, and the operations "Pañuelo," "Netol," and "Gento." Once this first phase of operations to aid the outposts was completed and more reinforcements arrived, a series of operations called "Diana," "Pegaso," and "Siroco" took place, aimed at defending and clearing the territory of armed groups and consolidating a defensive perimeter of about six kilometers around the capital, Sidi Ifni, which would remain in place until 1969. https://www.lamecedoradigital.com/ ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 👉 SUBSCRIBE TO THE ROCKING CHAIR CHANNEL:    / @lamecedoraignaciosarmiento   //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// FOLLOW THE ROCKING CHAIR'S NEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: 👉 FACEBOOK:   / 139883144271479   //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 👉 Twitter   / igsarcab   ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// You can contact La Mecedora at the email address: [email protected]
