Here's the complete recipe: Ingredients: 500g all-purpose flour 110g white sugar 1 pinch of salt 10g dried yeast 240ml warm milk 85g unsalted butter 1 egg Filling: Smoked ham Smoked bacon Pimento-stuffed olives Raisins and optional cream cheese (it adds a wonderful touch) Brush mixture: 1 egg 1 tbsp water 1 tbsp honey 2 tbsp brown sugar Tips: *Knead for 10 to 15 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic. *Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size, covered to prevent it from drying out. If you live in a warm climate, it will take a little over an hour and a half, but if you live in a cold climate, the time doubles or even triples if it's very cold. So, I recommend placing it near a heat source. It works inside the oven (turned off) with a cup of boiling water next to it to provide warmth, or try any method that involves heating the dough. *Bake at 175°C. I used convection (fan) for better heat distribution. I recommend using an oven thermometer because sometimes ovens don't calibrate the temperature correctly. Imagine setting it to 175°C, but it's actually heating to 200°C or 150°C. That's why I recommend a thermometer, as it gives you an accurate temperature reading. My bread was ready in half an hour. I had to take the tray out and change its position so that my bread would brown properly. *Let it cool completely before slicing so the bread's crumb stays fluffy. If you slice it while it's still hot, you might flatten it, causing the air in the bread to compact and giving it a chewy texture that makes it look and taste undercooked.
