Bingöl Governor Cahit Çelik spent the night in the Şerafettin Plateau, located between the Solhan and Karlıova districts. According to a statement from the governor's office, Çelik visited the plateau, situated at an altitude of approximately 2,600 meters, and met with producers in traditional felt tents, gathering information about livestock farming activities in the region. He observed sheep shearing and milking, and in the evening, chatted with nomadic herders around a campfire. After spending the night in a tent and having breakfast with the herdsmen early in the morning, Çelik inspected the grazing of the flocks and small livestock farming activities on site. In the statement, Çelik noted that the Şerafettin Mountains are one of Bingöl's important centers for small livestock farming. Stating that they wanted to meet with the producers in the highlands and share in their lives, Çelik noted the following: "It was a beautiful day. We stayed with them overnight. When we look at it, Bingöl really has potential, especially for small ruminant livestock farming. Of course, a country can only utilize its potential if there is security and order in that country. Thank God, there is incredible peace today. Thank God, our citizens come and do livestock farming and production very comfortably. We wanted to share in their lives, and they hosted us. We stayed with them overnight. It was a beautiful night. Hopefully, we will continue to be with our producers in the future." Ali Kaysadu, the President of the Bingöl Breeding Sheep and Goat Breeders Association, also stated that there are approximately 180,000 small ruminant animals in the highlands. Kaysadu stated that the region is extremely suitable for small livestock farming, and said: "Without small livestock, we cannot beautify these mountains in any way. Our nomads have been using these pastures for years. Unfortunately, these pastures were abandoned years ago due to some events. Later, our state resolutely tackled all kinds of negativity and brought these pastures back to livestock farming, production, and nomads." "As nomads, we have never seen anything like this before." Hüseyin Morkoyun, who has been a nomad in the region for many years, also said that they were pleased that Governor Çelik spent time with them on the pasture. Morkoyun, who explained that Governor Çelik spent the night in the tent and had breakfast with them in the morning, said, "We are happy and proud to have such a kind and humble Governor. He is one of the people. We are very pleased that he came here. As nomads, we have never seen anything like this before."
