Today, my parents are celebrating 54 years of marriage, and the closer I get to becoming a wife, the more I realize there are so many relationship lessons my mom tried to teach me and that I regretfully ignored thinking there was NO way her old school advice could apply to me now. (I was SO wrong. She had every right to tell me she told me so, every single heartbreaking time.)
