Thee Sokee, real names Allan Musoke Senkindu, is a retired rugby player who played in the Uganda Rugby Union as a wing. Sokee, as he is commonly known, had a decorated career with the Uganda National Rugby team and his club The Kobs and he is considered to be one of Uganda's greatest rugby players of alltime. He was born in Mulago Hospital on 30th November 1980 and went to Yogemu Nursery School which belonged to his grandfather before joining Kampala Parents' School where he did his PLE in 1992. He then went to King's College Budo for his secondary education from 1993 to 1998 and then on to Makerere University. Sokee starred in several sports right from primary school and was the 200 meters and 400 meters champion running for his house Ghana while in S6 at King's College Budo, an achievement that won him the sportsman of the year award. On top of athletics, he started playing basketball for Power Basketball Club which later became DMark Power, in the FUBA League, while he was in S3 at Budo in 1995, and in 1999 also joined Uganda Telecom (UTL) Kobs Rugby Club. While at Makerere University he also played football for Nsibirwa Hall from 2000 to 2002, as a No.7 striker. In 2006 he quit basketball and decided to dedicate himself exclusively to rugby and The Kobs RFC. He is a 6 time league title champion in the Uganda Rugby League with Kobs in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2014 and 2016. He also won 4 Uganda Cup titles with them. He is a 2 time Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Uganda Rugby League and a 3 time Player of the Year, who is picked by sports scribes in Uganda. At international level, he has 43 caps for Uganda, and is currently the top scorer for the rugby Cranes. He was part of the Uganda Rugby Cranes team that won the CAR Africa Cup in 2002 and was a key player in the team that won the CAR Africa Cup again on 29 September 2007, in a 42–11 win over Madagascar, in a game where he scored a try. He captained Uganda at the Commonwealth Games of 2006 in Melbourne, Australia. Sokee also has 3 callups to The African Leopards, a multinational team of the best rugby players in Africa outside South Africa. On July 23, 2005, he played in the 15–30 loss to the South African Students, in Ellis Park, Johannesburg and was then part of 2 subsequent tours to the United Kingdom (British Army) and France (France U20). Sokee retired from rugby in 2012 but made a one year comeback to The Kobs in 2019, in an effort to motivate and inspire the new generation of players then to greater heights. Up to date he is still very involved in various programs in both rugby and basketball in Uganda as a mentor, helping to develop younger players. Since retiring from active play, Sokee has transitioned into a professional career as a Learning and Development Senior Consultant in Human Resources with Strategic Engagement Limited. He also serves as an MC at corporate events like weddings, product launches, End of Year parties etc and as a commentator at many sports events especially at the FUBA games in the Lugogo Arena. He is happily married to Miriam Kalinaki with whom he has 3 beautiful daughters.
