Join Uncle Shem Muganga on a journey down memory lane in the revolution of movies or films as they were called then, in Uganda. Ugandan cinema's origins lie in the British colonial period from 1894 to 1962, when film was primarily used as a tool for education and propaganda through initiatives like the Bantu Educational Kinema Experiment in which the population was sensitized about most things like government projects and diseases using combi projectors in the early 60s before cinemas were introduced. He takes us through the experience of the big cinemas and drive-ins of the late 60s & 70s, to the homes of the very few lucky people that could afford to have TVs and video decks in their homes in the 80s. He goes on to give us an insight into the classic movies and mini series of those times and the reason as to why they still stand out up to now.
