TRES CANTOS (MADRID): MUERE el HERIDO en el INCENDIO que ha obligado a desalojar tres urbanizaciones

A man has died in the fire that gripped the Madrid municipality of Tres Cantos, north of the capital, Monday night and early Tuesday morning. The fire broke out at 7:45 p.m. Monday and spread rapidly due to strong winds, with gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Early Tuesday morning, authorities reported that the fire was progressing favorably and had been contained. The deceased was rescued by emergency services from one of the homes in the Soto de Viñuelas residential area and rushed by helicopter to La Paz Hospital in Madrid with burns covering 98% of his body. An injured 83-year-old man was also being treated for chest pain. The flames have so far burned approximately 1,000 hectares and forced the evacuation of 180 people from three residential areas: Soto de Viñuelas, Fuente El Fresno, and Ciudad el Campo, the latter in the nearby town of San Sebastián de los Reyes.
