PH Navy’s New 8x8 APCs? | 5 New Armored Vehicles Incoming

The Philippine Navy has officially opened a ₱500 million tender for the acquisition of five new 8x8 Armored Personnel Carriers for its Peacekeeping Operations Battalion. Designed for troop transport, survivability, and rapid deployment, these APCs are expected to feature STANAG Level 2 armor protection and a 12.7mm heavy machine gun mount, prioritizing mobility and operational flexibility over heavy firepower. Several international defense manufacturers are expected to compete for the project, including South Korea’s Hyundai Rotem K808 White Tiger and Hanwha Tigon, Türkiye’s FNSS PARS and Otokar Arma, as well as Eastern Europe’s Pandur II from Excalibur Army.
