Adjusting the gearshift lever on a ZAZ, Tavria, or Slavuta is necessary if certain gears are difficult to engage, or don't engage at all. On my Slavuta, first and second gears were difficult to engage. In the previous video, I removed the gearshift lever and repaired it, and now it needs to be adjusted. The gearshift lever is also known as the gearshift control drive. To adjust the gearshift control drive, do the following: Place the vehicle on an inspection pit and lock the wheels with the handbrake; Set the gearshift lever to neutral, on the 3rd-4th gear engagement line (the hole in the end of the lever should align with the hole in the lower gearshift cover). If there is no hole in the cover, drill one with a 5 mm drill; Secure the lever in this position with an M5 screw, pressing the lever down to the required depth if necessary; Loosen the control shaft clamp nut; Set the control shaft linkage to neutral (the distance from the end of the clutch housing to the end of the linkage mounting bolt should be 90 ± 2 millimeters) - this is the reference distance. The gearshift rod extends 75 millimeters from the gearbox housing. Tighten the control shaft clamp nut with a torque of 1.8-2.2 kilograms-force meters; Remove the M5 screw securing the gearshift lever; Check the ease of shifting gears both on the move and at rest.
