Aumento de crimes em bairros nobres de São Paulo preocupa moradores

A series of crimes has caused concern among residents and workers in upscale neighborhoods in the western part of São Paulo. Areas like Jardins, Pinheiros, and Cerqueira César have been frequent targets of robbers. The criminals even disguise themselves as delivery app drivers to surprise their victims. Between March and June of this year, cameras captured several incidents in these locations. On March 14th, in the Jardins neighborhood, a woman had her cell phone stolen while getting into a ride-sharing car. On April 12th, in Pinheiros, a criminal acted on foot to steal cell phones from a group. In the Cerqueira César neighborhood, at the end of June, more violence was recorded near residential condominiums, with doormen activating internal networks to identify suspects through automatic reading of the license plates of the vehicles used in the crimes. The attacks not only directly affect the victims but also impact honest workers who depend on the streets for their daily livelihood, facing increasing distrust due to the "fake delivery drivers." Experts point out that many of these gangs operate in an organized manner, using constant communication during their criminal actions. Last Saturday (4), metropolitan civil guards arrested two suspects involved in a robbery on Avenida Paulista, finding stolen cell phones with them.
