A man identified as Gustavo Gomes da Silva Musse was arrested again in São Paulo for posing as an elderly caregiver to commit thefts. With an extensive criminal history that includes 17 police reports and several lawsuits, he used a false professional identity to gain the trust of families and steal valuable items. Gustavo presented himself as a nursing technician and was hired through specialized agencies. After a few days working in the homes of the elderly, he drugged his victims with sleeping pills to carry out the thefts unnoticed. In one of the most serious incidents, the loss reached R$ 100,000 in jewelry. The criminal's actions were recorded in several São Paulo neighborhoods such as Vila Sônia, Brooklyn, and Itaim Bibi in the south; Pinheiros and Perdizes in the west; Jardins in the center; Água Fria in the north; Artur Alvin in the east; as well as the neighboring city of Santana de Parnaíba. Police believe there are other victims who have not yet been identified. Gabriele, one of the victims, said she suffered a loss of R$ 90,000 in jewelry and cash. "He seemed like someone above suspicion," she lamented. Despite the contracts being made through reputable agencies, flaws in the procedures allowed Gustavo to continue his crimes. Experts recommend that families check the criminal records of candidates before making a final decision. During his recent arrest, police seized cell phones and bank cards belonging to third parties at the address where he was temporarily staying.
