Judge Faces Man Who Attacked Her During Court: Full Testimony

The judge who was attacked in January 2024 was the first witness to take the stand in Debra Redden’s trial on Thursday evening. The victim, Mary Kay Holthus, faced Redden for the first time since this horrific attack and explained the moment she was brutally attacked by Redden. Holthus said she thought he was getting better, he seemed more calm and wanted to start working. Holthus said she never saw the attack coming. Redden's defense attorneys argued that he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, which allegedly caused him to lunge at the judge after he failed to take his medication.
