ZEN ROCKS on the Gelli Plate
Demonstration of creating a series of prints of rocks on the Gelli plate using neutral colors of Open Acrylic (Van Dyke Brown, Titan Pale Green, and Prussian Blue). I began by cutting a series of rock shapes from a file folder. I rolled out Prussian Blue on my Gelli plate and used a small piece of cardboard to imprint and mimic striated marks found in rocks. I placed cut rock shapes on top of the Gelli plate and pulled three prints two of which were ghost prints. Next, I printed Van Dyke Brown and Titan Pale Green printed on top of previous printed colors. I made smaller marks on each color using a piece of cardboard and a rubber band stamp. The cut rock shapes picked up colors and patterns from printing. I demonstrated how they could be added to the Gelli prints for added interest.
