Today's interview is with Representative Yoo Seong-tae, whom we met at the Hanbat Phalaenopsis Society exhibition held in Daejeon last weekend. Although this was not a pre-planned interview, we were able to create very valuable content on the spot. We have already uploaded several interviews with Representative Yoo, and we completed filming last month for an interview addressing common misconceptions about plant breeding, which is scheduled to be released in May. This interview is structured to allow you to view the exhibited specimens firsthand and hear explanations about each variety. He explains the characteristics of the varieties as well as other individuals sharing the same parentage, providing an unvarnished and factual account. He spoke candidly about individuals that are still developing and have not yet stabilized. Showing us a purple floral specimen, he emphasized that even individuals selected up to the fifth generation are not yet complete but require further upgrades, discussing the essence of breeding and selection. He won both the Grand Prize and the Top Excellence Award at this exhibition, and the major prized specimens exhibited will be on display again at the national exhibition to be held in Suncheon.
