SEN Parent - The Hidden Cost of Corridor Conversations

In this video, I’m unpacking the hidden cost of informal conversations in schools, the corridor chats, verbal reassurances, and “quick updates” that feel collaborative but often carry little procedural weight. As parents of children with additional needs, especially those navigating an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), we can easily find ourselves relying on goodwill and good faith. But when concerns about provision, access to learning, or wellbeing stay informal, they can become procedurally invisible. This channel highlights how focusing on the child's individual abilities helps to engage them to learn. Advocating for our children who are living with neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD, Autism (ASD), ODD, PDA, Dyslexia and other individual needs that may fall into the category of learning disabilities, moving through setbacks when support is limited, inconsistent or not available, can be a challenge. As a fellow parent, having experienced similar challenges to that, I discuss here on this channel and working with parents that also share and live with these experiences daily.
