God Isn't Chasing You. He's Waiting. | Isaiah 30

Isaiah 30 says your real strength is in the stop. But most of us keep the surface looking fine while the wall behind the paint is already bulging. Why won't we just stop long enough to let God near? Often it isn't some big sin. The sin is the running itself, the way we stay busy and in control so we never have to be still long enough for God to do the deep work. In this message from Citizen Church, Daniel Mosley tells on himself. He and Jaclyn flew out for 20 years of marriage and drove the Oregon coast filling the highlight reel, and then the pictures stopped. In the quiet he realized his own speed had become a way to avoid God, and the things that had drifted only surfaced once he finally stopped. Then he turns to Isaiah 30. A bully army is bearing down on Judah, and instead of trusting their heavenly Father they run to Egypt to buy their own rescue, betting everything on what God calls the do-nothing dragon, all roar and no rescue. God's offer is almost too simple to believe: in returning and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength. Stopping is not weakness, it is the strongest thing you will do all summer. And when you finally turn around, you find God was never chasing you down with a belt. He was standing still the whole time, waiting to be gracious. So what is God waiting to restore in you that you just haven't slowed down enough to receive? This message walks through: Why we run to our own "Egypt" when the pressure comes The "smooth words" we ask for so nothing has to change The do-nothing dragon: why what you trust can't actually save you What it means that God waits for you instead of chasing you down The one decision the whole thing comes down to: just be willing Chapters 0:00 Twenty years of marriage in Oregon 3:37 The moment the pictures stopped 6:34 Isaiah 30 and Judah under pressure 9:38 Adding sin to sin 12:14 Running down to Egypt for rescue 13:36 The do-nothing dragon: what you trust can't save you 15:20 The smooth words we want to hear 19:50 When the wall finally breaks 22:23 In returning and rest you are saved 25:56 Salvation you receive standing still 29:07 We would rather run than let God near 33:20 What the low tide reveals about your soul 38:06 The Father waits instead of the belt 41:09 Where has your life drifted 44:08 Just be willing, and a closing prayer 👍 LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more empowering sermons and spiritual guidance. 🔗 CONNECT WITH US: https://citizenchurch.life/   / ctznchurch     / ctznchurch   Citizen Church is a church in Pooler, Georgia, just outside Savannah.
