HS Basketball - St John Bosco vs La Mirada - Condensed Game 4K

After a week of pool play, the Championship of the Bosco Classic was set. It was fitting that two teams that made the CIFSS Open Division last year would meet up in this years Bosco Classic Championship. La Mirada who has had their problems with slow starts this season did the opposite grabbing an early 18-8 lead. Seven different Matadores scored in the first quarter and had their biggest lead of the game 20-8. St John Bosco would respond and chip away at the deficit. Christian Collins got going offensively and was aggressive to the basket drawing multiple shooting fouls. Collins would score 13 of his game high 30 points and go to the line 7 times in the 2nd quarter making all of them. Gavin Dean-Moss put the Braves in front 30-29 after a coast to coast drive and bucket. Leon Shingo hit a corner 3 to cap off a 29-9 run for Bosco and the Braves led 37-29 at the half. Bosco pushed the lead up to 11 points 50-39 despite Gene Roebuck scoring 15 of his 27 points in the 2nd half. Collins and Moss controlled the tempo and slowed the game down into a half court advantage. Collins would go to the free throw line 11 times in the game and was perfect hitting on all 11 as the Braves came away with a 62-51 win over La Mirada to remain unbeaten at 8-0.
