2026 CIFSS Boys Division 1Championship Crean Lutheran and JSerra clashed in the Division 1 Championship Saturday afternoon at Toyota Arena. Crean Lutheran held the early advantage with a 12-10 first quarter lead. Hunter Caplan caught fire hitting on 3 threes as the the Saints built a 13 point lead in the 2nd quarter. JSerra closed the gap to 3 points before halftime with a Ryan Doane dunk as Crean Lutheran led 26-23 at the break. The Saints held the lead throughout the 3rd as their defensive pressure cranked up. Crean Lutheran built a 6 point lead 43-37 heading into the 4th quarter. Jserra would take their first lead of the game since the first quarter 50-49 when Hunter Frates nailed a corner three with under 2:30 in the ball game. Chad Mpoyi would put Crean Lutheran back in front 52-50 after completing a 3 point play the hard way. Earl Bryson who finished with a game high 21 points for JSerra tied the game once again at 52 apiece. Nick Giarrusso would hit the biggest shot of the game nailing a deep three to give the Saints a 3 point edge 55-52. Giarrusso would go on to hit 4 free throws down the stretch to seal the 59-52 victory. Giarrusso ended up scoring 12 of the Saints last 15 points of the game in a clutch performance to lift Crean Lutheran to a Division 1 Championship.
