La atención es el corazón de la inteligencia | Charo Rueda | TEDxPuertadePurchena
What is the relevance of attention to learning and intelligence? Attention is one of the most coveted resources at a time when people are constantly subjected to multiple stimuli. Executive attention is what guides us toward achieving our goals and regulates our behavior. Various studies conducted in early childhood demonstrate how attentional control also affects social and emotional development. Neuroscience and psychology study attentional control and its effects on intelligence, but how could this be applied in areas such as education or family life? Charo Rueda is a professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology and at the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada. A graduate in Psychology from the University of Granada in 1995, she has led and participated in research on the neurocognitive development of attention and its improvement through training throughout her career. Charo Rueda is a professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology and at the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada. She is the author of numerous publications on the constitutional (temperament and genes) and educational (educational experience and socioeconomic environment of upbringing) factors that influence the development of attention and self-regulation during childhood. Since 2013, she has been a member of the governing council of the European Association of Developmental Psychology. A psychologist and researcher, this talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
