This Stone Cabin Hides a Modern House Inside
Casa Mínima is the transformation of an abandoned stone cabin into a contemporary home. But the most radical part is almost invisible. From the outside, the house still looks like an old rural cabin: thick stone walls, a compact volume, a sloped roof, and the original external stair. Inside, however, the building was completely reworked to create comfort, light, warmth, and high energy performance. Instead of erasing the past, the project preserves the presence of the old Pasiego cabin and inserts a new layer within it. A former agricultural structure becomes a quiet modern retreat. A ruin becomes habitable again. And an old stone shell gains a new life without losing its place in the landscape.
