Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Oversee Tactical Exercise “Resolve of Heroes” in Diyala Under the patronage and in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, the 84th Commando Brigade of the 23rd Commando Division, Diyala Operations Command, conducted the joint tactical exercise “Resolve of Heroes.” The exercise involved military units at the brigade level, simulating the phases of a planned attack. The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, the Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Training and Administration, and several senior officers from the Ministry of Defense were also present. Participating in the exercise were formations from the Air Force, Army Aviation, Air Defense, and Special Forces, along with armored, mechanized infantry, artillery, military engineering, and detachments from the Armored Fighting Regiment. The participating units successfully executed the field exercise, simulating the stages of a planned attack, including identifying and engaging enemy targets according to the established plans. Special forces elements also conducted an airborne assault supported by army aviation, which contributed to enhancing combat readiness and improving coordination and integration among the participating branches and formations. This exercise is part of a series of exercises designed to train commanders in battle planning and management techniques for planned attacks, familiarize them with procedures in the assembly and gathering area, and guide them in issuing orders using sand table techniques. It also includes preparing fire plans for offensive and defensive operations, all of which contribute to raising the level of combat readiness and enhancing the participating units' ability to execute various military duties and missions with high efficiency.
