This Waste Oil Heater Is a Beast!

In this video, I put my homemade waste oil water heater to the test! This heater was built in a previous video, which you can watch here:    • Heating Water with Waste Oil!   The heater is constructed from stainless steel with copper heat exchanger coils and is powered by an 18V Makita battery-operated blower, making it completely portable and ideal for off-grid use. In this video, we perform two different tests: 🔥 Test 1 – Maximum Heat Output (BTU Test) With a continuous open water flow through the heater, we measure temperatures and flow rate to calculate the maximum BTU output of the system. 💧 Test 2 – 200 Gallon Batch Heat Test Next, we heat a 200-gallon tank of water to see how the heater performs in a real-world scenario. This test demonstrates how practical a waste oil-fired water heater can be for heating large volumes of water in off-grid applications. Whether you're interested in waste oil burners, off-grid living, hydronic heating, DIY fabrication, or energy independence, this test provides real performance data on what a homemade waste oil water heater can do.
