This week on Station Rigs, Mike travels to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, for a complete walk-around of the refurbished 2001 HME/Four Guys Squad operated by Citizens Hose Company No. 5. Citizens Hose was established in 1909 and has served the Lock Haven community for more than a century. Today, the company remains an important part of the volunteer-based Lock Haven Fire Department, providing specialized emergency response capabilities for Lock Haven and the surrounding area. This Squad may be an older piece of apparatus, but don’t let its age fool you. It remains the company’s first-line rescue truck and one of the hardest-working pieces in the station. The apparatus is equipped to support a wide range of incidents, including: • Vehicle rescue and extrication • Water rescue operations • Rope and technical rescue • Rapid Intervention Team assignments • Fireground support and specialized emergencies Firefighter Aden takes the time to open every compartment and show Mike how the company has organized the truck around the emergencies its members regularly face.
