What started as a Victorian volunteer brigade has evolved into a modern, professional emergency response organisation. Today, the crew respond to around 400 emergency calls every year. From fires and road traffic collisions to special service calls, they operate alongside Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service while remaining entirely volunteer led. We take a detailed look at their Scania Emergency One pumping appliance, their equipment, their station, and what it really means to serve on an on-call volunteer crew.
