Larry, The Downing Street Cat - A Dilemma

The Met Office informs me that the current heatwave is set to continue for much of the week, with parts of London and the South-East apparently heading towards 33°C. Thirty-three degrees. For a nation that considers 22°C to be "rather tropical" and responds by buying every portable fan within a fifty-mile radius, this is ambitious. In all my years patrolling the pavements of Downing Street, I cannot recall anything quite like it. The paving stones are warm enough to toast a paw, the pigeons have adopted the expression of overworked civil servants, and even the squirrels have stopped looking smug. Fortunately, my manservant is away again, which means I have unrestricted access to his pleasantly cool study. It is, I have discovered, an excellent place to conduct important government business, by which I mean sleeping. Meanwhile, I hear Argentina will be wearing their "lucky" blue away kit tomorrow evening in the match against England. This presents me with something of a diplomatic dilemma. Should I remain faithful to my lucky England white, or switch to the rather splendid red? White has history. Red has flair. Cats, of course, look distinguished in either. What say you, lovely viewers—white or red? Yours, from the coolest room in Whitehall.
