Das Grösste Bahnprojekt Der Schweiz Beginnt | MehrSpur Zürich–Winterthur

Beneath one of Europe's busiest railway lines, the largest railway expansion project in recent Swiss history is currently underway. Between Zurich and Winterthur, Switzerland is eliminating a bottleneck that has plagued the network for decades. For 3.3 billion Swiss francs, a 40-kilometer stretch of track is being widened from two to four. The centerpiece is the Brüttener Tunnel, which is being constructed using state-of-the-art tunnel boring machines and is scheduled to open in 2037. This video shows how this megaproject is being developed, the challenges of building it while maintaining rail service, and how it will improve the capacity and reliability of one of the world's most punctual rail systems.
