Delhi Katra Expressway Katra or The Delhi-Katra Expressway, officially the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway, is an under-construction expressway designed to improve connectivity between Delhi, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir. It will be a 670 km long, 4-lane (expandable to 8) controlled-access highway. The expressway aims to significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Amritsar to 4 hours and Delhi to Katra to 6 hours, compared to the current 8 and 14 hours respectively. Key Features: Length: 670 km. Capacity: 4-lane (expandable to 8). Terminals: Connects Delhi (Bahadurgarh border) with Katra in Jammu and Kashmir. Key Sections: Includes a 44 km stretch from Balsua Pancha to Hanagar in Kadua Jamu, featuring unique structures like India's broadest elevated structure and a balanced cantilever. Features: Major and minor bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and dense bituminous macadam works are part of the construction.
