Hello, I'm Rin. Today I'm spending a Sunday alone at the Takarazuka Revue. Before the show, I stopped by the deli section of Hankyu Department Store to pick up an okowa inari from Tagosaku — something easy to eat inside the theatre. I waited in line a little too long, and as usual, ended up walking faster than I meant to. Today's performance was the Moon Troupe. The Takarazuka Revue changes its programme every month and a half, and today's show was based on the story of Lü Bu — a warrior from the Three Kingdoms era of ancient China, said to be the greatest fighter in history. Act two was Crystal Palace, a full revue show. One hour of something dazzling. I like going to the theatre alone. You move at your own pace, and afterwards, you get to sit with your feelings quietly. There was too much to look at. I couldn't take it all in. After the show, Mister Donut was the next stop — the seasonal matcha donut was already sold out, so I went with my usual favourites. Walking home over the Mukogawa River, I could still see the theatre behind me. Back home with donuts, the programme, and a Kaldi drip coffee. Total spent today: ¥10,260 ($68). Expensive? Or reasonable? For two and a half hours, I was completely somewhere else. Personally, I think it's worth it.
