Golden Week Alone in Japan π―π΅ | Muji Haul, Egg Sandwich & Netflix Until Sunrise
May 4th β Greenery Day. The midpoint of Golden Week. With the Takarazuka Grand Theater closed for its Monday off, the town was quiet and calm. I started the morning with a small mistake β a shirt accidentally put in the dryer, out came completely wrinkled. I think it might finally be time to buy an iron. My first stop was Muji. The retort food section is always dangerous for me. This time: butter chicken curry, a Thai forest curry called Gaeng Pa, clam and mountain vegetable rice, and miso soup β plus fresh groceries from the supermarket next door. On the way out, a momiji manju stall caught my eye. A classic Hiroshima souvenir shaped like a maple leaf, filled with red bean, custard, chocolate, apple, cafΓ© au lait, and matcha. I added one bonus piece β 13 mini manju in total. Back home, I made an egg sandwich from memory β the Tokyo-style mashed egg salad version. The eggs came out a little firmer than I wanted, but it turned out incredibly good. Then I settled in with cold brew, momiji manju, and Netflix. I watched all seven episodes of Jimen-shi-tachi in one sitting β a Japanese drama based on a real estate fraud case that made headlines a few years ago. By 9 PM, it was finished. For dinner, I headed to 7-Eleven: Kin no Hambagu, dried prosciutto, string cheese, and cookies. A proper cheat day. That night, I opened a bottle of Talisker whisky. Neat was a little beyond me β I ended up making a highball. Then I turned on Squid Game. I went to bed as the sun was coming up. A Golden Week day that started quietly and ended somewhere unexpected. Thank you for spending this holiday with me. γAbout this channelγ On this channel, I share everyday life in Takarazuka City, Japan, through vlogs.
