After Work in Japan π―π΅ | Shinkansen Day Trip to Nagoya, Kishimen & Hitsumabushi
A day trip to Nagoya for a corporate training session. My company rarely sends anyone on business trips, so taking the shinkansen felt a little like a proper outing β even if it was technically work. Nagoya in about fifty minutes. Fast. Lunch was at Sumiyoshi, a kishimen stand on the platform at Nagoya Station. Kishimen is a Nagoya specialty β flat wheat noodles, wider and thinner than udon, with a smooth, silky texture. Hot day, so I went with the cold kitsune kishimen. It came out in five seconds. Stand-and-eat style, convenient for office workers in the best possible way. The training itself was short, but meeting people in person always teaches you something that a screen cannot. There is an atmosphere to it that just does not come through remotely. It was a good kind of stimulation β though it does tire me out. Once in a while is enough. On the shinkansen home, I may have shaken the beer a little walking around β but no overflow. Safe. At this hour, you can hear the sound of cans opening from all around the carriage. Back at Shin-Osaka, I stopped at Menya Marsho for salt mazesoba . I first had it at the original branch when I was a student and the taste has stayed with me. You can change the flavor as you go β yuzu pepper, grated garlic, kelp vinegar. And the part I was looking forward to most: oimeshi. A small serving of rice added to the remaining sauce at the end. It becomes a completely different dish. Too much food. Too much spending. I know. Home at 8:30 in the evening, completely full. The food I brought back became the next day's lunch. That was going to be a very good lunch. I met people. I ate a lot. It was a good trip. Thank you for spending this day with me. γAbout this channelγ On this channel, I share everyday life in Takarazuka City, Japan, through vlogs.
