In this video I compare the cost of healthcare in the UK versus America, break down what a colposcopy and cervical screening would cost in the US even with good insurance (deductibles, facility fees, out of network specialists, surprise lab bills), and explain why the NHS, for all its flaws and waiting lists, changed the way I think about getting checked. This is a personal story about American vs British healthcare, life as an American expat in the UK, and the real difference free healthcare at the point of use makes when you are frightened.
