Tropics Update: Rainmaker near the Texas coast this week

The National Hurricane Center is now giving a tropical disturbance near the eastern coast of Mexico a 20% chance of development over the next seven days. While development remains unlikely, the system is expected to move northward and interact with a stalled front near the Gulf Coast. That interaction is more important than whether it receives a name or designation. Forecast models still differ on the exact track. Some bring the deepest tropical moisture into Louisiana by the middle of the week, while others keep it focused farther west over Texas.
