The TRUTH About This Storm

Today I’m starting in an unusual place: the tropics. A small Gulf disturbance may not become a major tropical cyclone, but it could still help drive a “land cane”-type setup across the southern U.S. this week, bringing tropical moisture, flooding rain, and a bigger severe weather risk farther north. In this video, I break down the latest model guidance on the Gulf system, including why the European model is still showing a compact area of spin moving from Texas and Louisiana into Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas. I’ll show you where rainfall totals could become excessive, why flood watches are already in place, and how tropical moisture may push rainfall amounts toward several inches — with isolated spots potentially much higher. I also take a look at the broader weather pattern across the country, including the heat building out West, cooler and drier air moving through the Midwest and Great Lakes, and a significant severe weather threat setting up for Wednesday. That setup could bring damaging winds, large hail, and even a few tornadoes from parts of Missouri and Illinois toward Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Plus, I’ll show you the latest European weekly outlook to see whether drought relief may finally show up for parts of the East, while the western heat continues into the longer-range pattern. Stay sharp, chase hard, and let me know in the comments where you’re watching from.
