Casimir, wanting to secure the eastern borders of his duchy, decided to firmly resist the Yotvingian invasions, known for their belligerence and brutal fighting methods. As a result of the battle, Casimir's forces won, which for some time stopped the attacks of the Yotvingian tribes on these lands. This victory not only strengthened Casimir's position, but also contributed to increased stability on the eastern borders of the country.
