PCT Day 48 & 49 | Fishing, Short Tramily Reunion & Forester Pass (Highest Point on the PCT!)

Day 48 & 49 brought a little bit of everything the Pacific Crest Trail has to offer. Before tackling some of the biggest terrain in the Sierra Nevada, Neon took a short fishing adventure, caught four fish, and enjoyed time reconnecting with a few members of his trail family near the Mount Whitney Ranger Station. After getting back on the PCT, the focus shifted to one of the biggest milestones of the entire trail. On Day 49, Neon and Sputnik crossed Forester Pass, the highest point on the Pacific Crest Trail at 13,153 feet. The climb was tough, the views were incredible, and Dave even got to experience a Sierra glissade down the snowy side of the pass. Unfortunately, like many great trail moments, there is absolutely no footage because he was too busy living the adventure to film it. The day continued over Kearsarge Pass, the route many PCT hikers use to leave the trail for a resupply in Bishop before heading back into the Sierra. From fishing and trail family reunions to high alpine passes and breathtaking mountain views, these two days were everything that makes the Sierra Nevada such a special part of the Pacific Crest Trail. 🥾 PCT 2026 Journey 29.5 Miles for both days 📍 Mexico to Canada 🎣 4 Fish Caught ⛰️ Forester Pass – 13,153 Feet 🏔️ Highest Point on the Pacific Crest Trail 📍 Exit via Kearsarge Pass for Bishop Resupply If you’re enjoying following Neon’s journey, please like, subscribe, and join us as we continue north toward Canada! #PCT2026 #PacificCrestTrail #ForesterPass #KearsargePass #MountWhitney #SierraNevada #ThruHiking #HikerTrash
