PCT Day 53: Snowy John Muir Pass, John Muir Hut & a Campfire to Dry Out
PCT Day 53 brought another 20-mile day through the heart of the Sierra Nevada. Today, Neon and Sputnik crossed the legendary John Muir Pass, hiking through snow and stopping at the historic John Muir Hut near the summit. Named after conservationist John Muir, whose work helped protect many of America’s wild places, the pass delivered incredible views and plenty of challenging conditions. Along the way, they spotted a lone deer before continuing through miles of snow-covered trail. By the time they reached camp, shoes and socks were soaked. Thankfully, Sputnik got a fire going so they could warm up, dry out their gear, and recover after a long day in the mountains. 📍 Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) Day 53 🥾 20 Miles Hiked 🏔️ John Muir Pass ❄️ Snowy Sierra Conditions 🦌 One Deer Sighting 🔥 Campfire to Dry Out Gear Follow along as Neon hikes all 2,650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. 👍 Like the video 💬 Leave a comment 🔔 Subscribe and join the adventure #PCT #PacificCrestTrail #JohnMuirPass #SierraNevada #ThruHiking #Backpacking #HikingAdventure #PCT2026
