【4巡目お遍路】【逆打ち】DAY33(2024/12/23)古目峠を越え徳島へ、馬路越を歩いてみた

Today is a travel day, and there is no temple on the itinerary. The goal is Asamaya in Kaibu. While I was waiting in my room for the bus to Iriki, where I had left yesterday, the landlady of Lodge Ozaki drove me to Iriki. It was a great help. Right from the start, I walked along the coastline for over 10km with nothing in it. The direct sunlight feels hot, but the temperature is just below 10 degrees, so it's just right for walking. But as always, it's a long walk. None and Ikumi continue walking in silence. Today, I encountered three other pilgrims on the pilgrimage. I was so happy and it energized me. I reached Kochi's last town, Kouura, and took a break while looking at my favorite scenery. I love the scenery, of course, but I also like the lack of noise. I walked at a fairly fast pace for me, and since I had time to spare, I decided to cross the prefectural border by going over Furume Pass instead of Mizusho Tunnel. I took on the challenge without doing much research. I got lost along the way, but I continued on. The rocks were rough, but it wasn't impossible to walk. I crossed the prefectural border at the top. Finally, I entered the last part of Tokushima Prefecture. I took a lunch break in Shishikui. For the last time, I decided to take the Umajigoe route, which I also thought of on a whim. Is it difficult because I didn't do any research beforehand? Can I get through? I don't know. The entrance had a suspicious atmosphere, but I still had time and energy today so I decided to go. I walked with some trepidation, but surprisingly there were many places that were easy to walk through. And it was surprisingly long - about 2km? I like walking while looking at Nasa Bay, but the mountain path was also fun. I arrived at Asamaya after exactly 30km. This was my first time at Asamaya. They only charge 4,000 yen for a room only, but they also run an izakaya, so I thought I'd be able to get dinner, but it turns out that the izakaya is closed today... I ate some prepared food from a nearby supermarket. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the heating didn't work very well, which was a bit of a downside... Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, so I'll be visiting Yakuoji Temple!
